Culturing Voices through Act IV of An Enemy of the People
A place. Neither a village nor a metropolitan city. Politicians, corporate tycoons and real estate predators have gobbled up half of the fertile land of the village. Villagers who have sold the land are either having a luxurious life or have moved away to a larger city. The younger population who moved to larger cities or out of the country for education or a career do not have any interest in returning to the place. The overall ecosystem does not foster a return. The people who have some land of their own are a few and far between… They are also getting older in life. The situation is critical.
Amidst all these there is one woman of 50 who stands up, and Janashatru 3.0 takes her story forward. As she maintains: She is getting old, but the cause that she fights for stays very very young. Her fight to save her house and land makes her an enemy of the people. When the entire place is ready to be up for sale, she is the sole warrior who resists it.
