«Peer Gynt. No mans land» is a study on the issue of what defines your homeland. In a society that step by step is losing identity, and values and ideals are in danger of extinction, a profound question emerges: Is it the country that raised you that determines you or is it possible to be self determined? What is your homeland?
«Peer Gynt. No mans land» investigates this battle. Peer Gynt on one hand is an example of a civilization that glorifies individualism and represents the chaos, Solveig on the other hand a symbol of eternal faith, embodying the concentration as a form of resistance. His mother, Åse, portrays the homeland. The play is approached by the 3 axes: Peer, Åse and Solveig. Consequently, Peer’s life and his various adventures constitute not only a literal journey but also an imaginary, subconscious ride where all the characters he encounters acquire Åse’s and Solveig’s appearance.
The 3rd person theatre group is created by three actors: Chrysovalantis Fragkos, Antigoni Fryda and Eleni Zarafidou. Chrysovalantis Fragkos studied International Economical and Political Studies and attended the Drama School of Delos. Antigoni Fryda studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and attended the Drama School of National Theatre of Northern Greece, where she graduated with honours. She also attended the summer academy of Stella Adler Acting Studio of New York. Eleni Zarafidou studied Greek Literature and she attended the Drama School of National Theatre of Northern Greece, where she graduated with honours. They all live in Athens and work as actors. The 3rd person theatre group’s motivation is to bring together different artists with the purpose to create art that focuses on community development and personal artistic experiences.
